Take a break, watch this 4 minute short thriller: Why Haven’t They Fixed the Cameras Yet?
Short films, especially horrors and thrillers are a great way to dive right into the horror with only a short buildup, to create a great twist or scare or even a metaphorical message. They’re like a rollercoaster, you’re going up and then down real fast. It’s a short ride, but meant to evoke an emotional reaction very quickly and with big results. They’re perfect to watch on your break.
Plot
‘A woman leaves her holiday work party to discover the security cameras are still broken.’
Why you should watch it
It’s a very well-made film, with gloomy coloring to right away set the mood. The voice-over leads us through the story. In a short time it gives a good idea about the situation, the setting and the characters. But, it wouldn’t be a good short if things aren’t always what they appear to be, so watch out for the big twist. Especially the ending is merciless and crudely shot for a disturbing avenging surprise.
My favorite part
It’s a clever film with a title that can have a symbolical subtext as well, if you replace the word ‘cameras’ with another word that is quite similar in concept, ‘system’ and again replace that with ‘society’ and in just a few small steps, the film is more than a smart thriller, but conveys a message that change is paramount.
